Founded in 1982, CIWA offers various services to newcomer women and girls in Canada, especially helping them understand Canadian culture’s subtleties, whether social, business, or economic. CIWA’s services range from language and literacy programs to entrepreneurship training.Â
Prairie Centre for Excellence in Mentoring is a new initiative launched in 2022 to improve outcomes for newcomer mentees and mentors by creating new knowledge and practical resources for organizations offering mentoring programs. In its first stage, the project focuses on researching and developing an employer engagement toolkit for organizations offering employment mentoring.   Â
Women’s Business Hub is a 12-month program for immigrant women who want to start or expand their business in the province. WBH helps participants to brush up on their business skills, and access resources, tools and support for their businesses.
Newcomer Information Centre is one of Saskatchewan’s 11 Regional Newcomer Gateways that assist newcomers with the information and refer them to services to integrate into the community.Â
Launched in November 2021, DIVERSEcity’s certification grant is designed to assist women in recertifying, completing qualifying examinations, or evaluating their credentials so they can continue working in their chosen professions in Canada.
